In the best of my recollection, this piece appeared in our secondary school textbook. You guys may have recited it numerous times and understood it pretty well. Let's try to translate it, in your own ways.

乡愁 -- 余光中

小时候
乡愁是一枚小小的邮票
我在这头
母亲在那头

长大後
乡愁是一张窄窄的船票
我在这头
新娘在那头

後来啊
乡愁是一方矮矮的坟墓
我在外头
母亲在里头

而现在
乡愁是一湾浅浅的海峡
我在这头
大陆在那头

I personally love your version as the overall presentation is well constructed with the use of "bonding", "tying", "leaving" and "linking".

Your previous translation on <青春> was also well done.

Cute china stuff... that's from Precious Thots. Most gals would be fond of such collections that are adorable and elegant. I may not be changing my displaced picture too often coz if I do so, I may soon be running out of choices but to put up my own pictures. ;p
