In the best of my recollection, this piece appeared in our secondary school textbook. You guys may have recited it numerous times and understood it pretty well. Let's try to translate it, in your own ways.

乡愁 -- 余光中

小时候
乡愁是一枚小小的邮票
我在这头
母亲在那头

长大後
乡愁是一张窄窄的船票
我在这头
新娘在那头

後来啊
乡愁是一方矮矮的坟墓
我在外头
母亲在里头

而现在
乡愁是一湾浅浅的海峡
我在这头
大陆在那头

Homesickness/Nostalgia

When I was little
Homesickness was a tiny piece of stamp
Bonding me at one end with my mother the other

When I grew up
Homesickness was a narrow piece of liner ticket
Tying me at one end with my bride the other

And later
Homesickness was a low mound of tomb
Leaving me standing outside and my mother lying inside

But now
Homesickness is a shallow curve of strait
Linking me at one side and my motherland the other
