Talk about your pet phrase Almost all the people have pet phrases. For me, becuase of using online chatting tool,so I like to say 'My god or Faint!' when we talk something internesting. I'm not real faint actually, it's a showing of exaggerated emotion.When I took 1600 photos in Qingdao, my frient said 'faint'. So it's quite normal pet phrases online. When I trained new colleagues or reported working recoder, I liked to say 'it means' which reflected that I often explain my words to have everyone understanding. My colleague told me I had this pet phrase. Sometimes we should restrain our pet phrases. If a person often says 'ah..er..', it means the guy doesn't thinking well when he is talking. It's quite ineffable when you attend an interview. It' means you tell a lie when I ask your some sensitive quesitons, or your reaction is not fast, you mouth can't catch your mind. Then the interviewee would be failed. I had a friend many years ago, she was my university classmate, I recommended her to enter our enterprise, I found she had a pet phrase ‘do you know’, it’s a little harsh when she communicatied with clients or managers. I told her to overcome the shortcoming, but she failed. She wanted to overcome, but she was from Guangdong, she speaks very fast when she talked to others, and she can’t help saying pet phrase because she just concerned on taking. It’s interesting. Afther communication, she told me she forgot to restrain pet phrase. You know every people felt uncomfortable when a guy said ‘do you know’ in front of every sentense. She left me a great impression of her pet phrase.
This year, there is a new pet phrase ‘why’ prevails among the young people. It’s from a sketch called ‘dream homestead’ which palyed by Cai Ming and Guo Da. The heroine in sketch always said why to everything. Therefore, when we chat or have a joke ,we liked to say why? why ? why?
Young guys who were born after 90s have some new pet phrases which they think it’s very modern and fashion. For example, ‘dear’ is ‘亲爱的’, but they say ‘亲们’ means ‘亲爱的们’. Last time I bought a trousers from Taobao, the shop owner is a beautiful young girl, she said ‘qin, the size of trousers has sold out, if you wanted to buy it, you had to wait for several days…’ I felt confuze at first, what dose ‘qin’ mean? Then I remembered that they called dear is ‘qin’.
Sometimes, we use pet phrase for promoting emotion, but people shouldn’t have pet phrase becoming fashional words.
