It's summertime It’s summer time once again! The season has gotten Alma itching to do some home decorating. Taking advantage of the two-day weekend, Alma plans to call a family conference for a seasonal changeover. 又到了阳光普照的夏天,喜欢把家布置得美美的妈妈Alma又开始手痒了起来,今天,趁着有两天周末,妈妈Alma打算召集全家来个居家换季行动。Dialogue: Janice: Mom, this year’s summer wear is already out on the market. Why don’t we go out for shopping? Alma: That’s all you have on your mind, shopping for new clothes. What I am thinking is to give our home decor a changeover. Janice: Oh! There goes my perfect vacation. Alma: Look here, decorating your home is like making up yourself. It’s going to be pretty interesting; I believe that today you’re going to have a great sense of accomplishment. Janice: Oh, alright, I’ll just have to treat the wall as my canvas. I am thinking of painting the wall of the living room pale blue, the dining room red, and my room pale green. Alma: You’re sure that you want to be in charge of painting the walls? That can be pretty exhausting. Janice: Of course, I’ll be asking my dear brother for help. Surely you don’t think I was going to leave him out? Alma: I agree. Now what do you think your father should do? Janice: Dad usually likes to play master of the house, so why don’t we let him wash the toilet, mop the floor, and be responsible for the cleaning work of the whole house. Alma: That’s exactly what I have in mind. Janice: What about you, Mom? Alma: Naturally, I am the decorating consultant and purchasing personnel. Janice: More like the sergeant master, I bet. Alma: You could say that. Janice: Well, sergeant master, where do we start? Alma: Don’t be in such a hurry. Let me put together a decorating work list and a purchasing list, then we’ll wait for your father and brother before we start. Janice: Don’t forget pale green paint for my room, Mom. Alma: You can decide on that for yourself. However, I think you should discuss the colors of the living and dining rooms with your father first before making any decisions. Janice: That’s not good at all; Dad has absolutely no sense of color. Alma: There’s also me. Don’t forget I took up art in school. In matters like these, your dad always respects my opinion. Janice: I hope so. Alma: Don’t give me that exasperated look. Why don’t you clean up your room first and we’ll go shopping after I’ve written up the purchase list? Janice: All right! Mom, you think we can go to those fashion clothes shops? Alma: I’ll go with you if time permits. Janice: You’re the greatest, Mom. 最后由 sindy999 于 2007-06-26 14:06编辑 |
