我总结一下两位老师的主要观点。一个是环境因素，environment,另外一个是个人的意图,personal intension。两位老师能不能推荐一些书籍呢？

i think tha t there are many good books out there, just like learning english books. but for me the most important is not which book you use, it's how you use the book. i have many friend of master PHD, they spend the whole life reading the books, they know more english words than i do, but they can not speak and listen. so i always say that it's not just the book that you need to look. it's how you use the book. are you taking the language, are you speaking it, are you making a language...... the key is why are you learning it ,waht is you use. and it's never just for a test. because you what to find a job. then you want to use it in your job, with your boss.....so i think the key is that not just the book you have, but the question is how you use the book. i think that's the important thing.
你有多少书不是重要的，也不在于你对书的知识了解多少，而在于你学会应用它，怎么把它放在具体的语言环境中。我们中国有句古话，纸上谈兵是不可以的。要放在实战中去训练，这样才能切实的提高英语的技能。我有一些朋友，可能知道一些书的专业的知识，在具体的环境中，可能就不会很好的应用。对我们中国人来说，大家都有哑巴英语的一种趋势。23 楼 Date:2008-03-28 10:37:34 -

我是英语专业的。我是七十年代末的大学本科。当时在大学里，基本上没有像现在这样市场上的丰富的英语书，英语教材。我当时本科的精读教材就是《许国璋英语》，但是我们坚持学下来了。其实就是Tim Russ刚才说的观点，不在于我们学什么。其实现在市场上很多书都是很重要的，你根据自己的需求，选重一套学下去。25 楼 Date:2008-03-28 10:38:22

其实华尔街英语每个级别的设置，都经过了多年的专家的研究，案例的分析，以及我们教学经验所掌握的正反面的例子。我们就总结出一个级别，中级、高级，我们一直有17个级别。不同的级别当中，应该掌握多少词汇。这些词汇是生活当中最被人们常用的。而通过一个循环的学习，必须能掌握的就一定是有效的掌握的。

i personally believe in the TOEIC test is a better test, bacasue it test not waht you know, but what you can do. and i think that's very important difference. the company don't care your vocabulary, they don't how many grammar rules. they care that can you talk with the custommer, can you sell this product, can you understand and translate for me. so very much it's focus on the resoults. and i think all companies when they spend money to train and test, that's what they are looking for. the real practical results is what you can do with your english. as i know TOEIC test focus on real results of english. and i think that's really waht company looking for.
我们在商务英语的考试中，我比较偏重托业考试，因为不仅测试你的英语的学习水平，而且可以测试你在实际情况下的一些运用能力。其实一些公司或者外企，他们注重的是你如何与客户，或者如何与老板进行交流。他们不能说把词汇量放在第一位。有一些人，他们面试的时候，可能有一些考试，他们的分数特别高。但是当他们与具体的客户交流的时候，可能不太尽如人意。所以我们还是要注重实际方面的应用。

第二个，还是刚才说的，他想达到什么样的目标，具体做什么样的工作？是专做诉讼，还是合同文本。他自己应该有自己的目标。根据他的目标，按轻重缓急去解决。比如以文本为主，是专长于合同的。可能阅读能力就要相当的高。除了英语基础之外，在阅读理解上，对法律的把握上，就要非常的高。如果是诉讼，就对口语要求太高了。英文的要求，肯定在相关的专业的领域肯定有更高的要求，所以我觉得是取决于他的目标是什么。36 楼 Date:2008-03-28 10:45:52

i think the no.1 is what is your goal,why do you need to learn english,and for what reasons nso exactly. so what parts of law is she going to work what kind of job does she need. so i think first of all, the interesting thing is the legal words are properly the easy part now,because that's been her major, so she study that. the key now is that can she use it can she speak,and is she going to use it for legal purposes. another reason could be she is looking to move into business. and i found many people they are very familiar with the key words from the major. but they simply can't communicate. i give a example as well, the very good one that i talk in the detail about the job, but if they are going to dinner with the custommer, or they go for meal,they have to speak sth else and they still have difficult. so i keep talking about this general english, the total english. but for short, with sth like law, you have to be very clear which deriction, wtitten english, spoken english, and focus very clearly on improving an area. so i think the key is again with the legal english, you should be very creful about the language and the words, then know how to use it. and then be clear which exactly area you need improve for your future.
这位网友首先要明确他的个人方向是什么？他学法律一些必要的词汇肯定是要了解的。但是法律可以分为很多很细的方面，也要精细化。我们是做合同方面的，还是诉讼的一些案例。所以一定要明确自己的方向才可以。
另外还有普通英语的重要性。有一些法律专业的研究生，在此没有针对性。他们可能对法律词汇有很强的掌握，但是却对一些吃饭，或者日常的场合的英语水平却不太可以。这样是不可取的。

ok i think the first was environment as many students say, but i live in china, my friends are chinese,what do i do? you can create your own environment, you can make your language, and i think the key is finding people similar to yourself you will also interest. also very important is at the same level. so i think we talk about the environment,but i think one of the biggest misunderstanding is in peoblem with environment,is the level of english at the environment. i give you an example, i can go to russia, and i made a russia environment, and i can stay there for two years just listening, of the two years my russian will be the same.because i do understand anything, and i never will, because it is far to difficult. so the key is when you go to an environment, you need an environment which is similar, but i did it study in more difficult, so you understand the gerneral meaning, then you can still learn some new language in the situation with people at the same level. but even the university students or our friends, they can create their own language you know environment, give you an ezample, i know some students they have friends, every week, two times a week, two hours this evening, we are only going to speak english, if you speak chinese, 5rmb you have to done, the we use the money for dinner, so you can make your own environment, and yo prepare to talk about some topics, you prepare sth to discuss, and then you make yourself use english only for a very clear time,so i think it's very important soetimes to make it different, not english-chinese, chinese-english, but today this time english only, even if you don't know what to say, yo guess, yo try it, and i think that really helps to create a better english environment. but i think when you are listening or using english, very importantly has to be at a right level.not too difficult, not too easy. because if it is, it really a waste of time.
要有一个具体的英语环境。如何调动你周围的人呢？还是要通过你自己的一些努力，做一些沟通，尽量把话题变得有趣。也可以通过平时日常说话，去猜，或者做一些揣测，在潜移默化中去学习英语。39 楼 Date:2008-03-28 10:53:11 -
我再补充一些，你在自己营造一种英语的语言氛围的时候，一定要注意，要找级别或者水平相当的人。千万不是说，因为咱们中国学员有一种倾向。我一定要找外教，但是你如果是一个开不了口的人，你怎么和外教开口说话呢？40 楼 Date:2008-03-28 10:53:39

我给我女儿三年前请了一个外教。我发现那基本是一个浪费，因为外教是美国老师，对她来说，她理解的程度不高，最后我不得不停掉了。尽管那个外教非常好，但是不能全部靠笔划靠什么交流，但是对我至少是一种浪费。过了两年之后，我又恢复了，我觉得现在基本上更大程度的获益了。这就表明了一点，在你营造环境的时候，一定是水平相当，稍微有一点难度没关系。
