British soprano Sarah Brightman and Chinese musician Liu Huan will form the musical lineup for the theme song of the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games on Friday night, the Games organizers revealed on Wednesday.

Sarah Brightman, who gained worldly acclaim for her unique style of a blend of classical vocals and pop-inspired instrumentation and arrangement, arrived in Beijing days before the Olympics and was spotted near the National Stadium, the venue set for the opening ceremony of the 2008 Games.

Liu Huan, who wrote the "One World, One Dream" Olympic jingles, has just finished his part in the Olympic torch relay at its Tianjin leg days ago.

北京奥组委开闭幕式工作部部长张和平说，在开幕式文艺表演的结尾部分，也就是《梦想》表演段落里，将首次公开演唱开幕式主题歌。这首主题歌是从奥组委历时五年、举办了四届的奥运歌曲征集评选活动中脱颖而出，并经专门的评审程序确定的。为尊重大家对神秘的期待，今天仍然不公布这首主题歌的相关信息。但可以公布的是：主题歌长度为三分多钟，演唱者是中国著名歌手刘欢和英国著名歌手莎拉·布莱曼。

莎拉．布莱曼（Sarah Brightman）1960年8月14日出生于英国伦敦，3岁开始习舞，10年后首度参与戏剧演出，处女作是查尔斯．史卓斯（Charles Strouse）的作品"I and Albert"。1976年，布莱曼首度在电视萤幕上曝光，在影集"Pan's People"里面担任舞者，之后又担任流行乐团Hot Gossip的主唱；1978年，Hot Gossip的作品"I Lost My Heart to a Satrship Trooper"还登上英国流行排行榜第一名。莎拉布莱曼独具个人特色，她充满热情的创意构思以及举世无双的天籁，被誉为"月光女神"。
