A Chinese person buys some moon cakes in August and anyone can understand it. A student or a worker goes back to his or her hometown in this very season and every Chinese knows why. There is an important festival this month—Mid-autumn Festival, for which billions of Chinese people go back to their homes and gather together with their families.
八月份，中国人购买月饼，谁都能够理解；八月份，学生或者工人回家，每个中国人都知道原因。因为八月有个重要的节日，它使数亿中国人得以回家与亲人团聚。这便是中秋节。
I can still remember the very afternoon when I was only 7 years old. My grandmother, my mother, my sister and I were sitting in our small yard. My grandmother and my mother seemed to be much busier than before and they talked very happily that day. I saw they prepared many kinds of fruits and some kind of nice-looking food. My little sister finally found the special food too, which looked like the moon in the night sky. She was interested in them and tried to get one. Obviously, the table was much higher, and that was really a very big problem to her.
我仍然能够记得那个下午，我刚刚七岁。那时祖母，母亲，妹妹和我正坐在小院子里。那天两位长辈似乎比平常更忙了，但是她们却聊得很开心。我见她们准备了许多种水果，还有一种诱人的食物。终于，妹妹也看见了，因为它们看起来就像夜空的月亮。妹妹很好奇地试图够到一个尝尝。但是桌子要比她高多了，显然这对于她来说是个很大的难题。
My mother saw this and went to her, told us the special food called ‘Moon Cake’ because of its form. But she asked us to wait for our father to eat together. We agreed, although we were both not glad about that. Indeed!
母亲见状，走过去告诉她由于它的形状，那种食物叫做“月饼。但是母亲还是要求我们要等到父亲回来一块品尝。我们只好同意了，虽然我们兄妹俩心里都是那么地不情愿！
However, my father didn’t come to us until the moon rise on the treetop. When father finally arrived at our yard, he was very surprised to find his little daughter was heavily slept. He bowed and held little sister wholely into his arm, with long and deep silence.
然而，父亲直到月儿爬上了树梢才到家。当父亲终于迈进院子，愕然发现他的小女儿睡得正酣的时候，他怔住了。许久的沉寂之后，父亲才弯下腰去，紧紧地把妹妹整个地抱在怀中。
My mother went toward to my father and let him put down my young sister to the table. She picked up one of the moon cakes and called my sister’s name gently again and again. My grandmother smiled at me and also picked up another one to my mouth, said, ‘Happy Mid-autumn Festival, my lovely grandson!’
母亲走向他，让父亲把妹妹放在桌旁。她选了一块月饼，一声声轻轻地唤着妹妹。祖母微笑地看着我，同样地把另一块月饼塞到我的嘴边，说“我的乖孙子，中秋快乐哦！”

Time flies so fast these years, but once the August comes, I remember the yard and the memorable time. The expression of love on the faces of my family makes me love Mid-autumn Festival more and more. In fact, I understand its meaning for all of the families now, and that is called--Reunion.
这些年一转眼就过去了，但一到了八月份，我便不禁回想起院子和那段难忘的时光。亲人脸上所表达的爱让我越来越期盼过中秋节。事实上，现在我已经认识到这其实对于每个家庭都是别具意义的，或许，这就叫做团圆吧。
The reunion for families is called Mid-autumn Festival; the reunion for our nation is called National Day. Now, here, to every member on ICIBA.com, I suggest you loving this special August. ‘Let’s love our laborious relatives in August! Let’s love our great nation in August!’
对于家庭的团圆来说莫过于中秋佳节，对于我们国家的团圆就是国庆节了。此刻，我希望爱词霸里所有的词友，一起珍惜这个特殊的八月。就让我们在八月疼爱我们勤劳的亲人，在八月热爱我们伟大的祖国！
