Windows XP的操用界面的确是很好看，好看的背后是以消耗大量内存作为代价的，相对于速度和美观而言，我们还是宁愿选择前者，右键单击“我的电脑”，点击“属性/高级”，在“性能”一栏中，点击“设置/视觉效果”，在这里可以看到外观的所有设置，可以手工去掉一些不需要的功能。在这里把所有特殊的外观设置诸如淡入淡出、平滑滚动、滑动打开等所有视觉效果都关闭掉，我们就可以省下“一大笔”内存。
