小弟不才,在此综合一下大家的看法
选A的理由是:1.爱迪生发明电灯是客观事实,是不变的事实.
2.使用一般现在时更有感情色彩,更生动(历史现在时,原来叫戏剧现在时).
3.强调爱迪生发明电灯对现在还有影响.
4.口语
选B的理由是:1.爱迪生发明电灯是历史事实,是历史上的客观事实,已过去,a long time ago
2.强调爱迪生发明电灯是在过去.
3.爱迪生已不在人世.He died a very long time ago.
4.爱迪生发明电灯是过去的不可重复的事实.
5.书面语
6.发明这个动作是过去发生的，是一次性的，已经结束了。
选AB的理由:
⑴It depends on what tense he's using to describe the situation. Typically one would use past tense, as it's a past event, in which case B. invented would be used. You could use present tense hypothetically to say Edison invents the electric light. Not sure why you would though, possibly to fabricate some nonsense tale to scare the bejeezus out of your students about how Edison was friends with Dr. Frankenstein and they realized that they could use electricity to make light after the monster became luminous while the lightning was pulsing through his inanimate, grotesquely cobbled together body. But then it would probably be confusing.
⑵It depends if your working forward through a timeline then it would be A, but if your talking on past text it'd be B

用invents都是在特殊情况下, 如标题, 年表, 谈话中为了戏剧性地呈现当时的场面的需要等等
我个人认为其实A,B都是可以的,不过我更倾向B .每个人只是考虑问题的角度和着重点不同.
总之，这个题目没有出好！
大家认为还有什么理由,可再提出.
疑惑:为什么初中英语老师绝大多数选B,而高中老师绝大多数选A,但老外大多数选B??但不知为什么书上的答案是A???

2. 从句动作发生在主句动作之前，从句须用过去完成时。

They said they checked everything yesterday. 他们说昨天他们全部检查过了。
另外，从句说的是一般真理或
客观事实，即使主句用过去时态，从句仍用一般现在时。例如：
The teacher told the pupils that the earth is round. 老师告诉学生们地球是圆的。
