      全国首例公民讨要姓名权案在鹰潭一审宣判，赵C胜诉。（《新京报》）鹰潭市月湖区22岁男子赵C，名字很特别，20多年来让人印象深刻的同时，也给他带来了一点麻烦。因为一个“C”字，他在申办第二代身份证时遭到当地公安机关拒绝，公安机关要求他改名，无奈之下，赵C通过诉讼来“捍卫”自己的名字。据报道，赵C的父亲赵志荣之所以给儿子取这个名字，希望儿子在学好汉语的同时，也把英语学好。“C”是China（中国）的首字母，而且以“C”开头的单词也最多。
      前不久有个家长也很有创意，给孩子取名@, 因为其汉语的谐音为“爱他”。在这个追求个性和另类的年代，越来越多的人从名字着手，希望与众不同。

We'd better not break the pronunciation rules
I have heard the story that someone name their child with a @. I should admitted that it’s their right to name their children or even themselvs. This is also a time that emphasize individual characteristics, people try every means to show them with a difference. But I firmly believed that we still should value the traditions in the formal circumstances. People’ name is not only a signal, it is used to be referred as yourself. Take 赵 C for example, when people want to call your name, what should we call you? Not all people know the pronounciation of C in English, maybe we should call you Zhao Ci, that’s because C is prononced as Ci in Chinese Pinyin. I don’t oppose to the pursuit of individual characteristics, but we still should respect something, such as the language. Or, you cangive up the chinese word赵, you can just use a english name.
Here, I just show my opinions on this fact, not the person. At last, I want to say that we can pursue individual characteristics when naming someone, but we’d better not break the pronounciation rules.

The moment i catch this title, the first name came to my mind is, of couse, my name. Allow me to talk about my name here, it's fortunate that this is not an examination, otherwise my score will be zero. Talking my name, if i translate them into english, that should be Money Well Army, must be very funny. But after all, it's just a code，a signal, i think. My parents gave me this name just according to the family tree, i think it's ok. But nowadays, people of different ages have different views on the name of child. Specially about the first name of the child. After the 80s of last century, most family have only one child. And now it's time for their marriage, and then undoubtedly to have a baby, after then there's comes the problem, the name of the child. The most important is the first name of the child, follow mama or papa, it's the trouble. Sometimes they quarrel, sometimes they fight, and the quarrel and the fight is not only between the couple, but also two families. Maybe you think it's incredible, but it has long been customary.
And the second. I just referred that my name is just follow the family tree, and the second word of my name should be Jing, that's just the rule of this game. And the older generation insist on it. But the young generation have different opinion, they think the name of the child should sounds nice，full of personality. The name given by family tree is too worldly. So this is the second trouble.
The third about the man appealed to protect the name, i think that's not essentail. After all name is just a signal, if you like name, just name him whenever, wherever. But if rise it to the level of legal, it's unnecessary.

It is said that a name could affect a lot in people's life. I am not sure. But I do hope this is only a kind of superstition, (because I personally don't have a good name, I think

).

But, I think I have to admit that, if you have a good name, and everyone praises you this; you would be deeply encouraged, and maybe it might change something in your daily life, because you would feel ashamed if you are not as good as they say.
And I also have to admit that, parents always hope by giving their children a good name could lead them a brilliant future, right?

Like in the past, parents expected their kids to grow up without any difficulties, they would name their kids as "...dog"(狗子.etc.

) or something like that when their kids were young;

Like nowadays, parents are always struggling in how to name their children, so that they ask for help from baby name consultants.

But, above all, does a name really change someone's life? I don't think so. Even some people don't have a good name, they can still do a lot of achievements. I think it's more important to fight for your achievements rather than expecting a good name could bring this to you.

As his name is, so is he.
Nowadays, more and more people seek for creation and originality for everything, so does name. Maybe they think their children are special and so the name of their children should be special and individuality, which is happen to have the same view “As his name is, so is he.”
I neither argue against the opinion not support it.
To some degree, it is easy for strangers to remember your name if the name is special and individual. Besides, your name stand for you which means you must answer somebody if they called your name. You will be confused if your name is ordinary and common. For example, your name is apple and you are in the same place where there is another girl also named apple. At that time, somebody named Bread called: “Apple” I believe both you and another girl will answer for it, at least both of you would consider that he is calling you. When you see Bread you know he was not calling you just now. I think it’s embarrassed for such awkard plight. Therefore, the best way to avoid such trouble is owning special and individual name. Besides, parents have the right to name their children as their will. Name is short, but it show love and concern of parents.
Though name is important, it is not necessary to do something unconventional or unorthodox. Some parents even on purpose name their children with strange, difficult and complex words which can’t be find in dictionary. As a result, many troubles were followed one by one. In my opinion, name is just a code name or symbol. It is ok if you can be distinguished or told apart from others.

I know this event for a long time. But at that time, there was no result of this indictment yet. As far as I’m concern, as a Chinese men, people should not use letters, symbols or figure to name. It’s disrespectful to chinese characters. Don’t Zhao C know too many foreign people want to have a Chinese name, it’s a proud thing for them to have a Chinese name. So I really don’t know what does Zhao C and his parent think.

I don’t know why the case goes in his favor. There is no doubt that Zhao C make an open challenge to law and custom. If he win the litigation, I do belive there will have many followers. I knew that many people won various litigation because of defective or imperfect law. No government or court can deal with every case exactly. That’s why many people take advantage of the loopholes in the law to reach their own goal. Today we see a man named “Zhao C”, tomorrow, we will see ten people named “Wang 8, Li #, Zhang の” etc. We are living in a great nation, we should love our language and chinese characters. Zhao C said that the letter C was the abbreviation of China, his father hoped he did well in Chinese and English. We can see many people in ICIBA speak english very well, only can a letter C change Zhao C’s mind and life? I don’t think that it’s a reansonable explanation. By contraries, it’s a way of profaning Chinese characters.

If this case occured in foreigne countries, a nogovermental organization in that country would cause Zhao C’s trouble, the org would bring a lawsuit against Zhao C. The reason was that he didn’t respect native language. And Zhao C would recieve a fine with large sum. However, in China,we didn’t have ongovermental supervision departmen or orgnization to deal with these preposterous cases. So we can see many absurb events occurs every day. And to say the least, such this special phenomenon make trouble to functional departments. We know that for supervising and reducing work of functional departments, many enterprise used ERP to manage datas. And in the name column, computer has designed the type of input data. So it really bring big trouble to functional departments. But I do believe he will meet so many trouble when he applies to passport, bank account, driver license, etc. I’m silent.

我觉得中国人还是起个中国名字好.传统. 如果你喜欢英文名字,可以另外起一个呀.
中英文结合的名字不好,会乱套了的。

人名各异！在国内国人希望我们的孩子的名字与众不同,
有纪念意义，有深刻的含义。国外却不同叫joe的人so多，以致在大街上你喊一声joe 有N个人转头看你!
