Whether Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games will enkindle your heartthrob?
the scale of the paralympic games, the participation or the impact, whatever, is not likely to be worth the same as the olympic games. it is almost impossible for us to see a paralympic games in which those athletes perform in a perfect way. but what the point is that all the players are disabled due to accidents or they were just born to be. for that, we ought to, at least, concentrate ourselves on them by ways of tv or newspapers to show our full respect to those who do their utmost in the paralympic games in spite of various pains from their bodies.
as is often the case, we can draw the fact that all the disabled athletes taking part in the paralympic games are extraordinary people with extraordinary will. pathetic as they are, god is so fair that he brought them misery as well as stanch perseverance which is a way whereby they can be saved from tragic lives. when training, they make every effort to achieve what their coaches demand of them. although it always seems to be a long way to success, they don't surrender their heart to difficulties. instead, they try their best to overcome all the hardship with doubled, tenfold or even centuplicate efforts than the ordinary ones. it is their endeavour that deeply touches us and motivates us to struggle in our own life for the bright future. that's one of the many reasons why the paralympic games deserve our attention.
the second one, in my opinion, lies in promoting and expressing the awareness of every chinese on human rights. for so many years, foreigners stick to the point that china tends to lay less emphasis on human rights. the best evidence of this statement, not long ago, was the fact that some of them supported tibet separatists. chances are that those foreigners misunderstand china or to be more specific, they don't have a clear knowledge of china, about its cultural and policies. to be frank, we chinese, indeed, have not done enough in human rights such as caring about the convenience of the blind or ameliorating doctors' attitude to their patients, but it should be stressed that, we are always well aware of the need to improve the system relating to human rights and trying our best to achieve the goals of establishing an ideal society in which all the human beings are considered. now, it is time for us to prove ourselves, to prove that we chinese, actually, pay no less attention to human rights than westerners do and that all the citizens in china are dedicated to the cause of cultivating a good environment for living. foreigners can view these by observing carefully the behaviors of chinese people in this paralympic games since it's a small door open to the whole world and we'd better grasp the oppotunity to show chinese humanity even though it is only a small aspect involved reflecting human rights .
then, find our own torch inside, enkindle our heartthrob, cheer for those disabled players whatever their nationalities, and we'll realize the spirit of sports is so impressively conveyed from the eyes, the smiles and the performances of the athletes. it is sure that we can get another kind of beauty which is far away from our normal life. therefore, it should be more cherished.
support beijing 2008 paralympic games, support china!
