农历九月九日，为传统的重阳节。因为古老的《易经》中把“六”定为阴数，把“九”定为阳数，九月九日，日月并阳，两九相重，故而叫重阳，也叫重九，古人认为是个值得庆贺的吉利日子，并且从很早就开始过此节日。庆祝重阳节的活动多彩浪漫，一般包括出游赏景、登高远眺、观赏菊花、遍插茱萸、吃重阳糕、饮菊花酒等活动。

　　九九重阳，因为与“久久”同音，九在数字中又是最大数，有长久长寿的含意，况且秋季也是一年收获的黄金季节，重阳佳节，寓意深远，人们对此节历来有着特殊的感情，唐诗宋词中有不少贺重阳，咏菊花的诗词佳作。重阳节每年一天，孝敬老人、尊敬老人，就在我们每天举手投足之间。

假如你和父母各居一方，你会给远方思儿的父母打个电话？会说上一句温馨的话？而话的内容呢？

That was the first year in my high school. As the winter approaching, the weather got cold day by day. We had one class in the early morning before the breakfast. So I had to get up at 5:30 and rode to my shool. It was cold, especially in winter. Fortunately, I had warm gloves. I forget why we talked about this, I just remember he (one of my friends) said: " Think about your parents. If you care about them, you should buy them gloves." I was shocked and ashamed. I didn't even think whether they had gloves. So the gloves were the first gifts to my parents. Of course, they were happy.

那是在我上高一的时候. 随着冬天的来临,天气一天天的冷了. 我们当时要上早自习, 所以五点半就得起床然后骑车去学校. 路上很冷,尤其到了冬天. 所幸的是我的手套很暖和. 我忘了当时是怎样谈到这个话题的了, 只记得他(我的一个朋友)说了句: "你要是关心你的父母, 就为他们想想, 给他们买俩副手套. 当时心里一震同时也觉得很羞愧. 我甚至都没考虑过他们是否有手套. 所以手套就成了我给父母的第一份礼物. 当然, 他们是高兴的.

From then on, I realised my parents really need my concern. Although I still need their offering to finish my study, I can save some money by doing part-time job in my spare time and bring them something when I go home. Every time they complain to me of spending the money, but I can see their pleasure and the pride in me. This time I have no chance to go home. The only way is calling them. Wish them happy!

那时起, 我意识到父母真的很需要我的关心. 虽然现在还得靠他们完成学业, 但我可以用一些闲暇做做兼职, 每次回家都给他们带点东西回去. 每次他们也都埋怨我花钱, 可我能看到他们的高兴和骄傲. 这次没机会回家了. 只能打个电话. 祝他们开心!

The Double Ninth Festival also called the elder people'day. what' the meaning of elder people?It must be up to 65 years old.my parents are less than 60.though,I don't think we should take this holiday so important for our parents.It is a festival for us to horner our grandfather and grandmother.They are old,and most of them live alone,the most pleasure thing is to recall the good old days and their kids and grandsons or granddaughters.no mater how old the adult is ,they are the kids of their mother and father's.they are the person who need more cares.go to visit them after work,give them a prensent or not,eat some pastries and drink some chrysanthemum tea with them,talk with them,wish them a better health and longevity.The most important thing is the family love.It will benefit all.
Hope every family a happy life.

Today is the Double Ninth Festival, I'll pray for them --healthy and happy.
“What will you do to honor your parentson the Double Ninth Festival?” A shocking question. Yeah, I never thought of that before.

Just what do we owe our parents? You might be surprised to learn that the dimensions of what is required are quite limited. We are only required not to:

contradict our parents publicly
call them by their first names
insult them or display anger toward them
to have dinner with our parents.

They brought me up. As an adult，thought I do not have children, I can not feel my parents’ hardness. They brought me in the world and the least that I can do is respect them.

First, I will make dinner for my parents. They will appreciate the effort I put into making them a meal and it will lessen the work load on them.

Helping them with things that they're not as fit to do if they're elderly. Parents are usually big blessings they take care of me and I should take care of them in return and show my love for them.

Today is the Double Ninth Festival, to tell truth, I just know this festival before, but what it means, I learn it today, I am guilty about that, how unfilial I was.

Parents are most important persons in our life, it’s them who support us, give us opportunity to own what we have now, for my parents, I don’t know how to express my appreciation. I love them but be shy to tell them, usually I call them once a week, this habit has been continued for six year, perhaps this is the action of honor, and I will always do it.

This morning I called mum, never mentioned the festival, just talked about how did she spend these days, she worries about my job and life, every time is like that, that’s mother love, I understand her. I really hope mum and dad will be healthy. I seldom buy them gifts, especially a T-shirt for father last year, he was very happy and proud, and showed it to neighbors, he was like a child, so lovely. I think I should do them more, take them to travel, have big meal, enjoy the life, but this beyond my capacity, that’s one of my dreams. I will work for it.

Friends, let’s come on, especially boys, love our parents. Wish them happy and health.

A lonely stranger in a strange land I am cast, I miss my family all the more every festival day. Today is Double Ninth Festival, I miss family very much,especially my 2-month-old nephew. So this morning I sent a message to my parents, I bless them healthy and happy.The day before yesterday, I dreamed of my grandfather, he worn a sweater ,the sweater is so old and its collar is low.I see this,a curious sensation pressed my heart.Now,the weather is colder and colder,I decided to weave a neckerchief to him.Although I don't know how to weave it well, I must try my best to weave and promise to give the warmest neckerchief to my grandfather.I miss them so much.
独在异乡为异客，每逢佳节备思亲。今天是重阳节，我很想念我的家人尤其是我2个月大的侄子。一大早我就给我的父母发了短信，我祝福他们健康、快乐。前天我梦见我外公，他穿了一件既旧领子又低的毛衣，我看到这，一股奇怪的情流冲击我的心中。现在天气越来越冷了，我决定织一条围巾给他，尽管我不知道怎样能织好，我一定会尽力去织的，我答应送条最温暖的围巾给外公的,我很想念他们。

好好的孝敬他们，并不是非要在重阳节这一天，昨天是老人节，今天是重阳节，以前是父亲节和母亲节，
不管那一天，我们都要以孝为大，以敬为先。
