The Communist Party of China (CPC), also known as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is the founding and the ruling political party(执政党） of the People's Republic of China and the world's largest political party.

Although July 1st has always been celebrated as the day when CPC was founded,the real date of the Party's foundation was July 23th.

It was said that the founders of the Party had forgotten the exact date.They only remembered it was in July.So they chose July 1st. Later,people got to know the exact date was July 23th refering to historical documents.

I know something about the reason why it is July 1st,but not July 23th.
In fact,CCP was established at 1921,July 23th,which proved to be right by modern history scholar.however,it is chairman Mao's idea to take the day of July 1st as the CCP's birthday.Because in the May of 1938,Mao said let us celebrated our CCP's 17th annivesary at July 1st.At that time,Mao was in Yan'an.and there are only two people including Mao and Dong Biwu who ever took part in the 1st congress of Party representatives.however,both of them didn't remember which day was the exact day.And on the condition of that time,there were not enough history materials to prove the fact.After that time,we consider the annual July 1st as our Party's birthday.Although afterwards it proved the day is July 23th,our leaders thought the day of July 1st was nothing with our celebration and the history.so we celebrate the anniversary at July 1st.
